About The National Maritime Museum

Take a trip to the National Maritime Museum and discover epic stories of exploration and endeavours that have shaped our world as we know it.
The Museum has fourteen different galleries to discover and explore. Uncover stories of adventure and piracy, ambition and greed.

Discover the challenges of extreme environments. From Arctic and Antarctic exploration to the impact of climate change on human lives. Get up close to the actual uniform Admiral Nelson was wearing when he was fatally wounded at the Battle of Trafalgar.

The National Maritime Museum is a fantastic place for kids aged 0-7. Boasting an interactive boatyard where children can Stoke the boiler of a steamship, buy and sell fish in the marketplace, and make new friends. Catering for the older children, The All Hands children’s gallery is for children aged 6-12 and is open daily which also features amazing interactive games.

Administration to the National Maritime Museum is FREE.
